peachespong asked: hi jenny! i'm a fan of your blog and i have a hair question for you. your bob + bangs style that you had in mid~late 2012 - how did you style it in the mornings for it to look so fluffy/glossy/perfect? as in, did you use a flat iron, some product, brush it a certain way, or did you just spring out of bed and it was like that? thanks!

I WOKE UP LIKE DIS!!!

Nah, I’m trying to remember which products I was using.  I know I was using Prostyle’s Fuwarie and my mini flat-iron.I was also using Ma Cherie’s Air Feel hair care at the time too.

I also used to get “body perms” with my bob styles every april (they last about 3~4 months,) which help my really thin and flat hair look a little thicker.  The body perm doesn’t ensure you roll out of bed looking perfect but it did keep my styling lasting longer and made my bangs look thicker.

jenxtras asked: when in nyc, where do you like to go? I'm stuck in a nyc-born and raised mindset and have not actually been a tourist in my own city but also don't want to go to the basics, and was wondering if you knew of cool places to visit :) tyy

I haven’t been in over a year + so there might be better places to visit & I’m no NYC expert either but I posted this ask a little while ago about DC/NYC.

For me I always think "what is it I want to do????" Usually it’s shop or eat but honestly some days in DC I’m just like I NEED TO SEE PAINTINGS LIKE NOOOOOW so that’s a good place to start. I had a friend go recently and got calgel nails at Sakura nail + spa and gorgeous lilac hair streaks done at the Japanese salon &HAIRLOUNGE and that was the focus of her trip! So definitely stick to doing things you like and not doing things you think are expected.

The best things I’ve done while in NYC was enjoy good food (Laduree macarons are the best on the planet!) and walked. I seriously just walk everywhere!! If I had more time I’d like to visit Catbird & Bird for shopping.  There’s Anna Sui where you can try any of their makeuyp line and the flagship Madewell and APC are eyecandy. There’s a Max Brenner there too which I go to the one here a lot. Great fondue (but everything is sweet sweet sweet!) So for me walking around and using Yelp to find a popular nearby eatery or cafe :)

Anonymous asked: emoda cosmetics has an eyeshadow called mermaid

Don’t they have a whole mermaid theme for their summer line? Or is that Murua? I have to admit I don’t follow those brands very closely these days. I do know that Maison de Reefur has a nautical theme for their anniversary!

And it’s fuckin perfect xD
